PäischtCroisière: A Tradition That Brings People Together

From 23 to 30 May 2026, the PäischtCroisière celebrated a very special milestone: its 40th anniversary!

But this anniversary edition was remarkable for more than just its milestone birthday. For the first time, the popular cruise set course for Northern Europe, taking guests to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Norway and Scandinavia. More than 700 guests from Luxembourg joined this unique journey and made it an unforgettable experience.

On board MSC Euribia, guests enjoyed an itinerary that perfectly combined natural wonders, cultural discoveries and memorable moments of togetherness. Under the theme “PäischtCroisière goes North”, the voyage began in Kiel before continuing via Copenhagen to the majestic fjords of Norway.

Copenhagen – nordic charm and a joy for life

The first stop was Denmark’s vibrant capital, Copenhagen. With its colourful houses along the famous Nyhavn waterfront, its relaxed atmosphere and its perfect blend of tradition and modern design, the city provided the ideal start to this special journey.

Guests enjoyed a wonderful sunny day exploring the many attractions of the Danish capital. And while everyone returned to the ship with plenty of great memories, some also brought back a rather unexpected souvenir...

Geiranger – A natural wonder that takes your breath away

For many guests, Geiranger was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the cruise. Even the journey into the famous Geirangerfjord was an experience in itself. Surrounded by towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls and snow-capped peaks, guests were treated to a panorama impressive enough to amaze even the most seasoned cruisers.

This spectacular destination perfectly illustrated why Norway’s fjords are considered among the most beautiful natural landscapes in Europe. Around every bend, a new postcard-worthy view unfolded, creating unforgettable memories for everyone on board.

Ålesund – Art Nouveau between sea and mountains

With its distinctive architecture and unique location spread across several islands, Ålesund showed itself from its very best side. The city combines maritime charm, colourful façades and spectacular views of the surrounding coastal landscape.

Known for its remarkable Art Nouveau heritage, Ålesund captivated visitors with its elegance and authenticity. From picturesque streets and a lively harbour to breathtaking viewpoints, this stop offered a wonderful glimpse of one of Norway’s most beautiful coastal towns.

Flåm – experiencing Norway’s nature up close

Another highlight of the journey awaited guests in Flåm. Nestled between majestic mountains and deep fjords, this small village offered a truly breathtaking setting. Many guests took the opportunity to experience Norway’s unspoilt nature up close and immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of this remarkable region.

As if the scenery itself were not impressive enough, the weather was also on its best behaviour that day. Under clear skies and bright sunshine, Flåm revealed its full beauty, providing the perfect conditions to explore one of the jewels of the Norwegian fjords.

Celebrating, laughing and creating memories together

Beyond its extraordinary itinerary, the PäischtCroisière once again stood out for its unique and welcoming atmosphere. Throughout the voyage, a dedicated entertainment team consisting of Sandy, Lisa, Ricardo, Yves, Marco and DJ Al ensured that guests enjoyed a lively programme and unforgettable moments on board.

Among the most popular events were the karaoke night, the lively Après-Ski Party, the elegant White Night, the colourful Flower Power Night and the traditional Luxembourg Evening. These shared experiences once again turned the PäischtCroisière into a place where friendships were formed, new connections were made and lasting memories were created.

An anniversary to remember

The 40th edition of the PäischtCroisière will remain a cherished memory for many of its participants. The combination of spectacular Nordic landscapes, a brand-new itinerary and the unique sense of community on board made this journey a truly special experience.

Following this successful northern premiere, anticipation for the next edition is already growing. Because once again, the 40th PäischtCroisière proved one thing: the most memorable moments are created where fascinating destinations and shared experiences come together.

My takeaways from my first PäischtCroisière

After my very first PäischtCroisière, I’m taking home plenty of great memories – and a few tips that I’d like to share.

1. A balcony cabin is worth it

Especially on this Northern Europe itinerary, having a balcony was a real highlight. Whether it was sailing into the fjords, watching waterfalls glide past or enjoying the long Nordic evenings, being able to admire the scenery directly from my cabin made the experience even more special.

2. Not every destination requires an excursion

The organised excursions are a great way to discover each destination. However, travellers who enjoy exploring independently will find that many places can easily be discovered on their own. Whether it’s a stroll through Ålesund, a hike with breathtaking fjord views or simply soaking up the local atmosphere, some of the best holiday memories are often created in those spontaneous moments.

3. The organisation? Surprisingly good

Before my first PäischtCroisière, I was curious to see how a concept involving more than 700 guests would work in practice. My conclusion: remarkably well. The programme was well organised without ever feeling overcrowded. The ULT travel hosts were always present, approachable and ready to help. Guests could enjoy their holiday entirely at their own pace while knowing that support was always available whenever needed.

4. Do You Have to Join Every Activity?

No.Those looking for a lively social atmosphere will find it through the many events and themed evenings on board. At the same time, guests who prefer a quieter experience will discover plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy some time to themselves.

One important lesson from personal experience: it is perfectly acceptable to skip a karaoke night if you are worried that your colleagues might try to drag you onto the stage. 😄

This freedom is what surprised me most about the PäischtCroisière. You can be part of a large community while still enjoying your holiday entirely your own way.
