An unforgettable experience!

Last April, I had the chance to travel to Algeria with my family and a few close friends. This country, which I knew little about beforehand, surprised us with its rich culture, the warmth of its people, and the beauty of its landscapes. From the bustling streets of its cities to the local traditions and the vastness of the desert, this trip was a true escape from everyday life – a complete disconnection. The hospitality of the locals touched me deeply; I felt welcomed as a friend, not just a tourist. The breathtaking landscapes and the fascinating history of this country left a lasting impression on me. Visiting Algeria means discovering a vibrant, deeply rooted soul that stays in your heart long after you return.

It was an unforgettable experience that I am eager to share with you.

My favourite dish is still couscous. There are nearly a hundred different versions of it throughout the country.

A visit to Algiers, the “White City,” and Oran, the “Radiant One”

Algiers, the capital of Algeria, offers a journey through time with its UNESCO-listed Casbah, Ottoman palaces, the majestic Notre-Dame d’Afrique Basilica, the Jardin d’Essai, the Che Guevara seafront boulevard, the Martyrs’ Memorial, and the museums that tell the city’s rich and complex history.

Oran, the radiant pearl of western Algeria, captivates with its blend of history and modernity: the Santa Cruz fortress overlooking the bay, the Place du 1er Novembre, the regional theater, the Sacré-Cœur Cathedral, the Promenade de L’Étang, its lively beaches, and an atmosphere that resonates with the music of Raï.

A short stay in the Sahara: A true escape from it all!

Taghit is a captivating oasis nestled at the foot of the towering dunes of the Western Erg. It’s a jewel of the Algerian desert, where lush palm groves, prehistoric rock carvings, traditional ksour (mud-brick villages), and the endless silence of the Sahara come together in a breathtaking setting.

One of the reasons why you should definitely visit Algeria: the local cuisine!

My favourite dish is still couscous. There are nearly a hundred different versions of it throughout the country. Whether with meat, vegetables or fish, it’s sure to please every palate. Traditionally, it’s served with a glass of fermented milk known locally as “El Ben.”

My personal favourite:

The best place where I had the chance to taste this dish: Dar El Mahroussa, right in the heart of the Kasbah.

For digestion:

Take a quad bike ride through the desert and enjoy a good cup of local tea while listening to Berber singers, right in the middle of the dunes at sunset.

I would be delighted to arrange your dream trip to Algeria.
