Day 1: Bin El Ouidane

Welcome to the land of the setting sun – or as they say in Morocco: ‘Marhba’.

Leave the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh behind and reach the town of Demnate, on the northern edge of the High Atlas Mountains. From there, the journey continues towards Ouzoud, where you can explore the famous waterfalls at your own pace. You then drive through the impressive mountain landscape to Bin El Ouidane – a region full of peace and nature. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodation, Dar L'Eau Vive.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades

You leave Bin El Ouidane and set off for the impressive valley of Aït Bouguemez. An eventful day on the mountain tracks of the High Atlas awaits you. Today you will cross the eastern side of the High Atlas from north to south – a real adventure in an off-road vehicle.

The starting point is the valley of Aït Bouguemez, your destination is the famous Valley of Roses. On the way, you will pass three passes at an altitude of around 3,000 metres. Your first stop takes you to an extraordinary geological site that is a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site, with fossilised dinosaur tracks in the rocks. After the first pass, you will lace up your hiking boots and set off on a 2.5-hour hike, part of which leads through the riverbed. The destination is one of the springs that feed the Oued Mgoun – a special natural experience off the beaten track.

For lunch, you have a choice: a picnic in the great outdoors or a traditional meal with a local family in the village – both options promise authentic impressions.

Afterwards, you continue your journey, crossing two more passes, and gradually the idyllic Valley of Roses opens up before you. From there, you continue to the Dadès Valley, known for its impressive rock formations – silent witnesses to the geological forces of this region.

Dinner and overnight stay at the ‘Chez Ichou’ accommodation.

Days 3 & 4: Erg Chebbi Desert

You leave the Dadès Valley and head towards Erfoud. The mountains fade away as the vast desert landscape unfolds before you. Outside Erfoud, lunch awaits you in the middle of the stone desert, in peaceful, idyllic surroundings. If you like, you can cool off in the pleasant shade with a dip in the pool. You then continue your journey towards Merzouga. In the distance, the first high sand dunes are already visible. Then an unforgettable experience begins: ride into the Sahara on the back of a camel and explore the dune landscape before reaching the stylish Madu Luxury Camp. With every step in the sand, the world becomes quieter – and the special atmosphere of the desert becomes noticeable.

Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.

The next day, you will delve deeper into desert life. In a 4x4, you will explore the dunes of Merzouga – the highest and widest in Morocco. On the way, you will visit a family of nomads who still live in this region today – an authentic insight into a fascinating way of life. You will discover the village of Khamlia, which has historically been closely linked to the caravan routes from Sudan. In a small traditional house, you will listen to the hypnotic sounds of Gnawa music, which will take you on a cultural journey.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Riad Madu.

Overnight stay at the Riad Chergui.

The penultimate day of the trip is dedicated to the cultural and historical treasures of Marrakesh. You will begin your discoveries in the medina, the historic centre surrounded by a 19-kilometre-long city wall. At the foot of the famous Koutoubia Mosque, you will immerse yourself in the vibrant life of Marrakesh and reach Jemaa El Fna Square, where storytellers, musicians and snake charmers create a very special atmosphere. Afterwards, you will visit the Saadian Tombs and stroll through the narrow, atmospheric alleys of the Mellah district, the old Jewish quarter. In the Bahia Palace, you will experience impressive Moroccan architecture and feel the splendour of bygone times. The day continues with a visit to the imposing Medersa Ben Youssef, a former Koranic school and a true architectural masterpiece. Finally, explore the colourful alleys of the old town and its souks, where artistically crafted handicrafts, spices and textiles invite you to browse and marvel – and where, with the help of your tour guide, you can experience haggling the Moroccan way.
